- Self Help:

Self Help Skills are the building blocks of becoming independent. Each child needs to learn necessary tasks from the minute they wake up to the time they go to bed. Many of these skills rely on incorporating fine motor skills. Most of these tasks become much easier when implementing a PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System). With the use of innovation computer based program we can design a specific type of instruction tailor made to each child. The child then has the opportunity to comprehend the task verbally and visually.

Below is a list of some but not self help categories:

• Eating/Drinking (e.g. cups, knifes, pouring, etc)
• Dressing (e.g. tying shoes, buttons, zippers, buckles, putting on and taking off attire, etc)
• Grooming ( e.g. washing hands, brushing teeth/hair, nose blowing, etc)
• Toileting ( systematic process to teach even the earliest how to toilet)
• Household (e.g. dangers in the house, making a meal, helping out, etc)
